Soco's outcome, AkinaWolf

Journal Entry: Sun Mar 29, 2009, 8:30 AM

3.29.2009

The vet came and confirmed that Soco did indeed have navicular and arthritis in both knees, which means we were LIED to.. Soco would no longer be able to be used for barrels unless it was very light work. He went back to his previous owner on Saturday and we got a partial refund(We should've gotten a full refund but they wouldn't do it...) but not without his owner putting up a hassle. Whatever. I really miss him, he was a sweety.

So now I'm on the horse search again.. sigh. When it comes to horses, things just never work out for me. :(

I do want to give HUGE thanks to our lovely deviant :iconakinawolf: as she donated me a 3 month subscription since mine just recently ran out. You guys have to check her gallery out, she has these really neat sculptures and drawings of what she calls "Hollow Horses"... I will give a few examples below. Either way, I want to give her a HUGE thank you! I know I wouldn't have gotten a sub in a while considering I have literally NO money outside of what I have to put away to spend on a horse...

Also a big thank you goes to =Leedlpuff for putting up a journal in attempt to get me a sub! thank you! And another one to =NiteMuse for the previous subscription!

A lot of people are being lied to when it comes to buying/selling horses. It's pretty sad. You're actually lucky to be able to give him back /and/ get a refund.

Good luck with finding an honest buyer and honest horse. <33

A lady must love God so much, that a man who wants her must seek Him first. I love God, and am a proud Christian. Are you?

the horse business anymore is so untrusting, ive heard of poeple that get their horses hooves cut to the point where they bleed so the horse will be the dead broke western pleasure horse that people want. then 2 weeks later after the horse heals up, it goes psycho again.

im glad you got at least some of your money back for that horse. and i hope you find the perfect horse in teh future. but dont be discouraged because things havent been going the best. eventually you will find that dream horse that will be sound and work well for you

Aw, that's the same thing I went through with, Cherry, the Anglo Arab mare I had. I was told she only had a stone in her hoof before I brought her home. Such a beautifully mannered mare yet unridable to Pony Club. She was returned and my deposit paid back.

I hope you WILL find the next barrel horse from a more honest seller :D Good luck.

What a jerk.....I'm sorry that happened. Horse traders/sellers can be major pains sometimes. When I got Zeus, the guy told me he'd sell him for $1300 (he was just a trail and working horse, nothing fancy) but when I paid for him, he tried to con me out of another 500. My Stepdad happened to walk by at the time, heard him screwing around, and got me out of it, thankfully. Got my horse AND my saddle at the right prices.

Have you ever tried [link] ? I've never actually bought a horse from the site, but I have browsed it and dreamed ^^; Its pretty sweet site, and you can specify the kind of horse you want, or see what they're good at..... It's always worth a try, right?

I'm glad I could help you out with a subbie though :)
