Saw JJ-- New Pics! What do you think?.

And oh my was it a trip. What we thought was going to take 4 1/2 hours there took 6 hours and 6 hours back I think. We even took route 219, which is pretty much a straight road all the way to Somerset.

Anyway, I have been talking to this lady back and forth for a while now, she offered to trade her paint for April. Well, I didn't want to go and just trade without testing him out and seeing him or the conditions April would possibly be living in, along with the people and horses she would be with-- neither did my Mom-- so off we went.

Nice place.. nice, honest people, the barn isn't too bad, they're building more stalls in it. Horses looked nice, they were all pretty friendly. Those little kids tho.. UGH!

They brought JJ out.. he definitely wasn't 16hh, I would say he stood at about 15.2hh which is totally fine. He's beautiful but unfortunately I didn't get to capture that beauty on camera.. He looks pretty horrid in all the pictures I took of him.

That gelding is HYPER! He likes to move move move and he can spin on a dime. They say that he gets hot when he's going out alone, but once you get out there he does good and when he is with his buddies he is good. He has a head tossing problem.. I am going to get his teeth checked out and see what's going on with that.
He does have some issues, but the good news is they wont be too difficult for me to work through with him. He needs to learn how to neck reign and after we get the feel of each other I'd like to start trying to teach him to move off of leg pressure.

He's such a sweety though! Here are some pictures... What do you think? I'm buying all ice blue tack to match his eyes.

Wow, I've never seen a paint horse with blue eyes! JJ looks absolutely gorgeous :D (I just find it kinda cute that his upper lip is pink but his bottom is black, lol). In the last photo, he looks like he's saying 'what are you doing there?'
He looks great :D

He looks good. To bad you didn't get a confirmation pic.. Why so much harnessing? Halter/Bridle and rope halter or is that a tie down? Is he purebred?
